Tips for Making colored Rice
Dry time. It is important to let it dry out all the way or the kids will get the food coloring on their hands when they are playing with the rice. You can speed up the drying time if you put less rice on a tray, the more rice on a tray the longer it will take to try.
Use plastic bags for mixing the rice with food coloring. Coloring rice is easy, however you are going to want to mix the rice with the food coloring in a plastic ziploc bag so you do not get your hands covered in dye.

Make large amounts. I like to make 5 cups for each color because then we can make lots of fun sensory bins with it. I have found it easiest to make large batches over smaller ones.

- 5 Cup of white rice per color
- Liquid or gel food coloring
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar per color
- Essential oil of your choose if you want it scented
- Ziplock bag
- Wax paper
How To Color Rice Directions
Pour you rice into your ziplock bag. Top the rice with the vinegar, a drop of your oil, as much color as you would like.
Close your bag and let your kid shake the bag until all the rice is colored.
Lay out a sheet of wax paper and pour your rice on top of the paper.
Repeat with any other color rice you would like.
Let your rice dry for 5-6 hours, stir occasionally.
