Mother’s Day Handprint Apron
If you are looking for an awesome Mother’s Day gift idea you are going to love this Mother’s Day Handprint Apron. It is a great Mother’s Day craft to give as a gift or to keep as a keepsake to remember the kids when they were little.
Kids do not stay little very long so I’m always looking for ways to save those little memories. This handprint craft uses handprints and foot prints and can be done with babies thru bigger kids.
If you are doing this with a young child or baby then i suggest covering the area you are going to work on just incase paint gets away from the apron.
I always suggest when doing a child’s hand prints to make sure you have everything ready and set for them. When youngg kids have to wait they get a bit restless so it is better to have things ready to go.
If you are making this hand print craft with preschoolers I suggest using paper plates and having them dip their hands and feet into the pain on a paper plate and then doing the prints on the apron.
I also like to have baby wipes nearby to wipe off the paint once I’m done to be able to move on to the next print.

Supplies Needed
- Cloth Apron
- Acrylic paint
- Paintbrushes
- Paint pens (optional)
How to Make
First iron your fabric to get as many wrinkles out as you can, this will make it easier when painting on it.

Start with the grass and just make small strokes over and over again, lighter and darker with paint at the bottom of the apron. Make the stems to your flowers for the same color as your grass.

Next you will need to paint your child’s hand and press it down onto the stem of flower. Repeat the step with a different color for each flower. If the hand prints come out too light you can fill them in with paint after.
Next you’re going to paint your child’s feet and place them down to make butterfly. Making sure to leave a space between the footprints for the body of the butterfly.

Using a thin paintbrush paint the body of the butterfly and make little dashes underneath for the flying line.

Above the flowers hand paint a yellow oval and black lines and wings to make a bee. Use black paint to make dashes for the flying lines behind the bee.
Allow the paint to dry fully before moving.
