How to Make Black Slime
When we are making slime we like to stick to kid friendly ingredients, to color the slime we suggest you use black washable paint or black food coloring.
Tips for Making Slime
If you have never made slime with glitter glue before here are a few tips to make sure you have an easy and fun slime making time.
Slowly add the contact solution into the green glitter glue. Adding it in to quickly causes it to get firm. You may not use all of the contact solution or you might need a little bit more contact solution to get the consistency the way you like it.
We like using plastic spoons instead of metal ones when we are making slime. We find that it stirs better with a plastic spoon.

How to Store Slime
When you are done making your halloween slime, store it in an airtight container. When you go to play with your green slime again you may find a little bit of liquid in the container too. Just mix in the liquid back into the slime with your hands.
How to Make Slime Stretchy again
If you take your slime out to use again and it is not as stretchy as it was, place it in warm water for 30 seconds to clean it up and get it stretchy again.

Dinosaur Tar Pit Black Slime Ingredients
Glue. We prefer to use Elmer’s Clear Glue or Elmer’s white glue when we are making slime. We have found it is the best glue for making slime.
Baking Soda.
Contact Solution. The brand of contact solution you use is not important, but you need to make sure that it has boric acid in it.
Black washable paint or black food coloring. Depending on your preference you can use either one to color your slime black.
Glitter. You don’t have to use glitter, but we love glitter and use it as often as we can when we are crafting and having fun!
How to Make Slime
Grab a large bowl and add in your glue.

Add in the baking soda and stir together the glue and baking soda with a rubber spatula or plastic spoon.

Stir in enough paint or food coloring till your slime turns black.

Add in the glitter if you want glitter slime.

Stir in half of the contact solution and see if it is stiff enough if not add the remainder of the solution.
If needed add more contact solution to get the slime consistency you are wanting. When making slime, the consistency is a lot of personal preference, some people like it sticky while others like it to be smooth.

Stir all of the ingredients so they are well combined. You will know the slime is forming and becoming slime as it pulls away from the sides of the bowl and firming up.

Take the slime out and begin kneading with both of your hands until it’s not too sticky.

Allow your kids to put their dinosaurs in the tar pit and watch their fun as they start to get stuck and need to rescue them.
