Butter slime needs to be stored in an airtight container. When stored properly it will last for about a week. You can also store it in a zip close plastic bag and squeeze the air out of it.

When you are making slime you need to use slime activators, for our recipe we use saline solution (other recipes for slime call for using borax or liquid starch but we prefer to use saline solution for our slime recipes). The cheap foaming shaving cream is the best shaving cream to use. I do not suggest using gel shaving cream, while it fluffs up when you are using it to shave, you need to use your hands to make it fluffy before putting it into the slime. You also want to be careful not to add to much shaving cream as it will make the slime start to get liquid instead of being a slime consistency. Be sure to follow the measurements we have shared in this slime recipe.
How do you color Butter slime?
I find the best way to color butter slime is using air dry clay (I like using the model magic clay brand) in the color I want the slime to be. You can use liquid food coloring and only need a few drops if you want to use white model magic and then color it with food coloring.
