I love having fun with the kids and making crafts for the holidays. It gives us a fun hands on project to do and gives the kids space to get messy and be creative. While I don’t mind craft mess there are times that I want to do things that involve less mess and this Halloween paper craft was one the kids loved while having little mess to clean up afterward.

Tips for Making this Craft
If you are making this with a large group of kids or younger children I suggest cutting the mummy pattern out ahead of time.
Use a pencil or white crayon to trace the mummy template on to paper so you can see it to cut it out.
Use liquid glue or glue dots. Glue sticks don’t work as well when you are gluing yarn to cardstock.

Yarn Wrapped Mummy Paper Craft Supplies
- Mummy Template
- Cardstock paper – black or any dark colored cardstock paper
- Yarn – white colored yarn
- Scissors
- Pencil or white crayon– for tracing the template
- Googly eyes
How To Make Yarn Wrapped Mummy Paper Craft
Grab the selected cardstock paper for the project and trace the pattern from the template on the cardstock paper with a pencil.

Use scissors to cut out the traced pattern from the cardstock paper.

Select white yarn and glue its end with the cut out pattern’s top side.

Bring the glued yarn to the other side of the pattern. This will be the front side of the mummy. Start to wrap the yarn around the pattern. Keep space on the head part for the eyes.

Move downwards while wrapping the yarn around the pattern. Wrap the hands, body and legs one by one.

Done wrapping? Bring the yarn to the other side (back side of the mummy pattern) and cut off yarn from the bundle, keeping about an inch extra at the end. Insert the remaining end through the wrapped yarns and apply a drop of glue on them to make sure that the wrapping is secured.

Select googly eyes for the mummy. I used 2 different sized eyes but you can use the same size if you want to.

Glue the eyes on the head part of the mummy pattern; along the space that we kept while wrapping the yarn and allow the glue dry entirely.
