Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats
Halloween is coming soon and I wanted to make lots of fun treats to share and ones that are easy so you can get the kids involved. My kids loved making these pumpkin rice krispie treats and loved eating them even more! They are totally adorable and the perfect size for kids to enjoy!

Rice Krispies are one of my kid’s favorite treats, they are so easy to make and this microwave rice Krispie treats recipe makes it even easier for the kids to get involved because there is no need to use the stove. Just heat the butter and the marshmallows in the microwave, add in the orange food coloring, mix marshmallows and cereal together and then shape into pumpkins. Super easy, super kid friendly and a great way to get the kids involved in making the Halloween treats.

Tips for Making Rice Krispie Treats
Prevent Sticking. When you are making these line your baking dish with greased parchment paper. If you don’t have parchment paper on hand make sure you grease your baking dish well. I use nonstick baking spray to grease my baking dishes and parchment paper.
Prevent sticky hands. If the rice krispie mixture sticks to your hands just slightly wet them with water.
Do not pack rice krispie treats mixture. To achieve soft, and chewy while being crispy marshmallow rice krispie treats you want to be gentle when pressing the mixture into shape.
Use a silicone spatula. I find it best to use a silicone spatula or spoon and spray it generously with non stick spray when mixing the cereal with the marshmallows.
Use an Ice Cream Scoop. Use an ice-cream scoop for even balls, be sure to also spray it with non stick spray.

Variations of this Recipe
Change up the Pumpkin Stem. I used Tootsie rolls, but you can also use pretzel sticks.
Add leaves and vines. You can add leaves and vines by piping on green frosting or using a soft candy like airheads and shaping it.
Change up the size. You can make these as small or as large as you want to. If you are wanting to make them for a kids Halloween party you can make them golf ball sized.
