Variations of this recipe
Use Crescent rolls. I personally like using puff pastry when making these fun Mummy Hot Dogs but you can use crescent rolls or the pizza dough sheets also.
Use your favorite hot dog. I like using all beef hot dogs, but you can use any brand or type of hot dog that you want to.
One eye or two. I like to change things up and give some mummy dogs one eye and others 2 eyes.
Mini Mummy Hot Dogs. Follow the same recipe but use little smokies instead, you might want to cut the cook time down a little if making them mini.
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! You can totally wrap the hot dogs and place them in the fridge and then bake them when you are ready to.
How to Serve Mummy hot Dogs
To make things even more fun I like to put bowls of dipping sauce like ketchup, mustard and honey mustard out and put candy eyes in them.
Tips for Making this Recipe
Use a Pizza cutter. If you don’t have one you can use a knife, but I find it is much easier to cut puff pastry sheets with a pizza cutter.
Don’t overbake. Puff Pastry dough is done when it is white with a hint of browning, if you cook them too long you will dry out the hot dogs.
